Developing in IE6 and IE7

If you’re looking to test your web page in both internet explorer versions 6 and 7 then you may want to check out evolt.org’s stand alone IE6 download. The software you can download is a stand alone version of IE6, so if you’ve got IE7 installed on your windows machine and need support for IE6 then this could be the IE tool for you. I recently started using it and think that it’s a great tool for web development purposes.

One of my coworkers has used TredoSoft’s product and it seems to work pretty well - it allows you to run IE6 down to IE 3 all on the same machine. I’ve also read that you can install microsoft’s virtual PC image to run IE 6, but have not tested this myself. The downside to this route is that there is a time limit on the image, so you’re install would at some point expire (not so good). If all else fails you could always do a quick ie6 vs ie7 google search and see what you come up with.
